About Tim

Tim Schlak, PhD is an experienced facilitator, consultant, author, and academic.

He previously served as Associate Provost of Academic Alliances and Dean of the University Library at Robert Morris University. He continues to serve as a professor and librarian in the Elaine Boyd Library at RMU and is active in publishing in Library & Information Science.

After 15 years in university administration, he is turning his professional focus to helping higher education institutions & their libraries provide more value in an era of declining resources and trust.

Upon his recent return to faculty in 2025, he is working on a forthcoming book that blends the noble Buddhist path with Jungian frameworks in order to provide an alternative, and, ideally more hopeful, view of life’s midlife passage where career and calling are concerned.
